It's Been A Year~
There’s a quote that says, “Adversity is a test for a strong soul.” Has your soul been tested in 2006? Probably so. Some of you are glad to know that the year is almost over. Others may feel just the opposite, but most of us have experienced some adversity along the way.
The truth is we are all working out the “kinks” in our lives and the mix often consists of opposites that continue to ebb and flow on our path. Life is filled with pain and pleasure, joy and sorrow, laughter and tears.
For example, a painful relationship may have come to an end, but once healing is restored to the soul, pleasure returns. For those who sorrow in the loss of loved ones, time must be allowed for peace and joy to soothe the shattered soul.
The reality is the New Year will likely bring a mix of things to test you and to strengthen you. Life adversities are a part of new beginnings and everyday goings on. When we understand that this “mix” will occur, regardless of what we do or don’t do, we position ourselves to better deal with the surprises that often show up without warning. This can help to find meaning in the storm and hope in the process.
Every day presents another opportunity to reach for a greater level of growth, maturity, compassion and appreciation. A year is just an accumulation of 365 such days. May the new year of 2007 bring hope for better tomorrows and give you the incentive to continue moving forward, regardless of what comes your way.
