ake a deep breath; count to 5, then slowly release it. As you are breathing, feel the muscles in your body relax, starting from your toes. Once finished this exercise, you should be completely relaxed, if not already asleep! There are many other forms of meditation - including some that involve complex postures or sequences of movements (Yoga). Meditation can be as simple or complex as you make it. It also has many beneficial side effects - especially if used daily.
Medidtion provides a break from everyday life. Have you ever had a day when you just can't seem to focus? Taking a short meditation break can help provide mental clarity in these situations. Sometimes, we have days that are very repetitive, and that ask us to act on automatic pilot, or as a part of a larger "assembly line" unit. On these days, meditation can provide needed individual time. And this can also lead to less stress in everyday life.
Meditation does help ease stress. There are many reasons to get rid of stress in your life. One of the more important ones in terms of health is that stress is a major cause of heart disease and stroke. We all have days where a lot of little stresses pile up, and other times where stress is a major factor in a situation - such as divorce or separation. The time out daily meditation provides helps you effectively deal with any stress.
Of course, meditation also provides an overall sense of well being. After a meditation session (particularly when used with positive visualization) you tend to have a better outlook on life as a whole. You are more relaxed, and generally more enthusiastic about life as a whole. The more affirmative your thoughts are, the more positive your life will be.
The benefits of meditation, when put together, are all very exceptional. It gives you a mental break from the everyday clatter that goes on in your mind. It helps reduce stress levels in your life, and gives you a healthier outlook on life in general. So, I hope you enjoy your daily meditations!
