Affirm Your Journey

e're all working on something. Otherwise, we wouldn't be drawn to a site like this one. We are creative, dynamic, life-loving women... and we want to bring more of ourselves to the surface!
Life is such an interesting experience. My own "Phoenix Process" began eleven years ago, when I 'came out' to myself. Here I was, married (to a man) for four years, with two young children, and I awakened to the fact that I am attracted to women. What's a girl to do? I entered what I call my 'angsty years'- seven years of inner turmoil, internal dialog, and angst. That kind of 'turn your world upside down' change comes slowly for me. When I could no longer remain in that confined prison of my making, I made the choice to live. LIVE... all caps. And I came to know that my fears were greater than anything I experienced in living my truth.
Fast forward a few years, and you find me still practicing growth, still living my truth, still doing my darndest to honor and respect my soul's intentions. And from those desires, I make my living. I hammer affirmation jewelry. Because, I believe wholeheartedly that affirmations have a tremendous influence on our daily life experience.
A wise soul said, "Your Thoughts Create Your Destiny". We influence our lives by focusing our thoughts. Practice intention with a daily reminder. Focus your intent. If you want more peace in your life, focus on being peaceful. If you want more joy in your life, focus on joy, gratitude, love, laughter. Whatever it is, that upon which we focus is who we are, who we become. Practice gratitude, for we draw those feel-good feelings into our lives when we focus on the great good surrounding us.
Today, I wear a silver bracelet that says "Love-Joy-Laughter-Abundance". I 'see' my intentions daily, reminding me to have unwavering faith and focus on the positive qualities I wish to have more of in my life. It isn't about what we don't want, but about what we want more of. If you have watched or read 'The Secret', you know what I'm talking about.
Positive Assertions (www.positiveassertions.com) is about just that idea.... choosing to center our awareness on constructive and hopeful declarations. Focus on whatever it is you are wishing to bring to the surface in your life.
Life IS an interesting experience. Our stories are our life maps. We see where we are, and just how far we have come.
