June Issue: Changes
A
h, good old summer time. We've had a few scorchers up here in New Hamshire and then it seems as if fall set it, but that doesn't stop the tacking sound of renovations around here. I hope your summer plans include having fun and time for yourself.
Just a quick note to let you know that I've made a few changes to the way the articles will be rotated.
Between The Pages will get new articles every week. All columns and cover features, including the book section will still be on a monthly basis. I don't want to send out a barage of emails everytime I post an article as I know your time is precious and I do find that to be quite annoying when I receive constant emails. I will still send out a monthly email for the monthly articles.
Also, just to let you know that the blog is available to place your events and things of interest to women. Just email me with the details at least 10 days before the event, so that I may post it to the blog. I will also try to communicate more through there and let you know of contests and upcoming news.
A few quick mentions and highlights for June. All new for Wendy Reichental, Rachelle Disbennett-Lee
and Gloria Anderson, and my
Woman to Woman column. Check out the links on the
cover for that.
Check out the first of a 3 part series on passion by Holli Ronquillo -
Living a life of passion and purpose - Part I
I had the pleasure of reading Cindy La Ferle's collection of essays -
Writing Home - and reviewing it. One of the essays from the book
Beach Stones is also up, along with Masha Gessen's book on genetic mutation -
Blood Matters. The latter sounds rather clinical but it was a fasincating read. Read the excerpt,
My Mother's Fatal Flaw.
And I have two copies of
Blood Matters to give away to newsletter subscribers only. If you want a chance to win one of the copies, just drop me an email with 'blood matters' in the subject line and your name and email in the body. I am hiding from spammers, and so I will not link the email address - dprince@surewoman.com
And last but not least, Lydia Dean, who used to run a Villa in Provence, France and whose travel stories appeared on Surewoman has moved back to the United States and there's a new addition to the family - a little girl from China. Read the heart warming story,
Falling For Isabelle: A Chinese Adopting Story.
I will leave you to discover the rest of articles and other goodies on your own just by going to the
cover page.
Until next time,
Celebrate Your Spirit,
Dawn
